Julian Claxton

Project Founder & Photographer

Julian has been a professional photographer since graduation in 2002. He worked as a medical photographer in the NHS for a number of years, before going freelance in 2009. Since this pivotal moment, Julian has captured a huge variety of moments through his lens, working in corporate, editorial and travel sectors. His images have appeared worldwide and he has won numerous awards for his creative imagery.

Nikki Morris

CEO DeafBlind UK

Nikki has extensive experience of working in senior management within the third and statutory sectors instigating transformational change, maximising business performance, and promoting team cohesion. Nikki is the CEO for Deafblind UK, a charity for people of all ages affected by deafblindness. She has previously been the CEO of Age UK Camden and Deputy CEO of The Big C Cancer Charity. Nikki remains on the nursing register and until recently was the Chair of the Cancer Forum at the Royal College of Nursing. She has been an expert panel member/advisor to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee and is a member of the NIHR PHR PB Committee. She also is a member of the Services and Community Committee for Priscilla Bacon Lodge, Hospice. She has a personal interest in literature and the arts and is passionate about the role that Fotograf can play in supporting children and young people to own and tell their own stories in their own way through the lens of a camera.

Emma Drake

Programme and Partnership Manager - Active Norfolk

Emma currently works at Active Norfolk leading the countywide Holiday Activity and Food programme. She has a long background in working with and for community and youth groups and on projects that support them. Having travelled and worked abroad a great deal and is keen to support young people no matter where they are in the world. Emma met Julian when he had just started working in Uganda, whilst she was at Wex Photo Video and was able to support the amazing work with an exhibition and talks. Emma says it is great to see Julian form an official charity now and help to make this valuable project sustainable.

Nick Phillips

Owner of Funnells Kitchen

Nick is the owner of Funnells Kitchen which is an event catering business he started in 2002. They have a kitchen in Lowestoft, Suffolk and in Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk and cater for around 30 weddings alongside corporate events all throughout the year. Nick first discovered Fotograf when he wandered into Julian’s exhibition of photographs in Lowestoft he was viewing the photos depicting the life of the families connected to the school in Uganda and was deeply moved and overwhelmed with emotion by the faces and portrayal of resilience and hope that radiated from their faces. Nick has been following the progress of the charity from then on and is delighted to be part of the group that will help Fotograf move through the next phases of its exciting journey.

Phill Rushmere

Project Manager & Change Practitioner - NHS

Phill Rushmere is currently a Project Manager specialising in Workforce at the Norfolk & Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative; a partnership between James Paget University Hospital Foundation Trust, Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trust, and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn. He has a strong quality and compliance skillset within the charity sector, having worked with local charities across the UK, and is passionate about user lead services to ensure the Charity’s purpose is delivered. Phill is also a APMG Certified Project Manager & Change Practitioner, has led on a variety of different Digital focused projects/programmes, with keen focus on data protection following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation in 2016.

Andrew Brisbin

Director of Ventures at Allia

As a business owner, investor and a start-up & corporate veteran, Andrew has worked across a variety of industries scaling and operationalising ecommerce products, ed-tech services, and small businesses. Passionate about tech & creative solutions for good, Andrew leads the team at Allia to help social entrepreneurs and problem solvers take their solutions to scale. From building financial models and pitch decks to launching products, Andrew thrives on working with founders to accelerate change. MBA, CIPP/US, avid eater of foods and reader of books.
